I am originally from a small town near the Florida-Georgia border and spent my early years immersed in Southern culture. Before I knew it, though, I was swooped out of the Deep South as I moved deeper into Florida. I had become an “air force brat,” which meant that I also lived in Norfolk, Virginia and then RAF Lakenheath, England until I returned to central Florida to attend a conservative, Christian university. After completing both bachelor and master’s degrees there, I attended Princeton Theological Seminary to complete a Master of Divinity. I now live in Brooklyn, New York and work in an administrative position at a church in Manhattan while I pursue ordination in the United Church of Christ.
